We all have an idea of what we would like our life to look like. I think some of us are actually scared of wanting too much.
I know I fall in this category on some occasion. I say ''what if I am asking for is too much?'' and then I settle for what I think I deserve.
So how to change it?
Here are 5 steps to living the life you really want:
1. Always look for the opportunity to get stronger: in our little comfort zone, we are always trying to avoid conflict, but we should look for opportunities to grow as a person. Ask yourself what in this situation will make you a better person
2. Overcome your fears: fear helps us avoid the unknown but it can really screw us up. It can prevent us from moving forward in life. It’s not about not having any fear at all, but it’s to recognize it and move through it. I always say, the only way to get over it is through it. Don’t allow the fear to dictate what you do.
3. Follow your heart: what would you do with your life if you knew you couldn’t fail. The reality is that you do have a choice. If you decide that you will succeed, you most definitely will. We always make excuses why we are not doing what our heart tells us to do.
4. Ask empowering questions: your mind tries to answer the questions you ask yourself, so if you ask yourself ‘’why me’’, your brain will automatically give you a list. So instead use the power of your mind by asking: ‘’what’s right about this?’’ ‘’ what gifts do I have that can benefit this’’, ‘’how can I have fun doing this?’’ or ‘’what is it that I need to learn from this’’. 5. Be willing: you have got to have the willingness to say yes. There are going to be tough decisions to make. Be willing to give your gifts to the world, to contribute.
