On Saturday night a group of clients and I slept out in Princess Street Gardens for @social_bite
. The aim of this incredible event was to help raise awareness and help put and end to #homelessness
We experienced what it would be like to sleep “rough” for one night. Yes it was a cold night, with temperatures dropping to -5, we had roll mats, sleeping bags, technical clothing, plenty layers and access to hot drinks when needed. Unfortunately, this is not the case in reality.
Those less fortunate do not have the benefits of what we had last night and whilst we got to go back to our homes to warm up others are not as fortunate.
We need to understand this situation and make people feel safe, secure and most importantly in control of their life’s again so integration back into society is as easy and normal as possible.
As a team we have raised an incredible amount of money and it’s down to all you generous people which allows Social Bite to help the cause.
Please if you are reading this and have not yet donated you can do via the link in the bio:
On behalf of myself, Alan, JP and Chris we would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the weeks and with the fundraising continuing on until Christmas Eve we expect to smash through our target.
We will stand together.
