The biggest lie a Christian could ever believe is that God doesn't love you or that you have let Him down.
Peter loved the Lord deeply and in his heart he wanted to fulfill the promise he made to Jesus that he would never leave Him. (Matthew 26:33) But Jesus, knowing all things, knew that Peter just did not have the courage yet to keep that promise and so He told him, "I tell you the truth, Peter--this very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny three times that you even know me." (Matthew 26:34)
But Peter insisted that he would rather die than betray the Lord.
But when it came time to put up or shut up, Peter was not willing to put up after all. And after denying Christ for the third time, the rooster crowed just like Jesus said, and Peter remembered the words of the Lord and as the verse says, he went away and wept bitterly.
One could only imagine how Peter must of felt - denying the Lord of glory.
But the Lord did not stop loving Peter nor did Peter let Him down. The Father who is in heaven saw Peter's past, present and future - He saw Peter when he made the promise (his past), He saw him when he was full with regret (then his present) and He also saw him when he was preaching the gospel, leading many to Christ and gave his own life faithfully for the gospel (his future).
As humans, we can't see what the Lord can see; He knows who we will become. He knew your failures before He called you, before He loved you - and as His child you can't do anything to change that. So rebuke the devil when he come at you with those lies!
God loves you!
Give your life to Christ
Say Lord I confess my sins, and I make You my Lord and Savior.
