17 weekend miles! 🎉🎉🎉 14 on Friday with @triandrungirl
, and 3.5 on Saturday with my husband. Both my coach, @ashkickn1
, and I were a little nervous about me going 14 miles, but I really really wanted to join Heather on her long run.
We took those 14 miles pretty easy and kept the pace steady the whole time, and I was so pleased with how my body felt during and after. My doctor said as long as I stay in Zones 1-2 (recovery zones), I'm good to go. But anything Zone 3 or above is off limits 🚫.
Which makes sense. Whenever I've tried to push and tap into my speed, I burn out quickly and am left feeling depleted for about a week - to the point where my usual Zone 1 pace feels like Zone 4. So Zone 1-2 it is! I know I keep saying it, but I'm just so happy that I still get to run, so I will gladly take the easy running....then 2018 better watch out! #roadtorecovery #adrenalfatigue #chicagomarathon #keepittight
