I was trying to get a picture of my Christmas lips AND nails which turned out to be ridiculously hard! But after I was looking at AALLLL the pictures I took, I realized that what I actually wanted to post about was how much I love this face!
Look at those freckles! Take note of all my laugh lines! See the wrinkle between my eyebrows from furrowing them at wayward children day after day. Check out the way nothing is symmetrical. Notice the blueish color under my eyes.
You know the expression “she/he thinks s/he’s God’s gift!”? Usually that’s used in a derogatory way, meaning someone who is arrogant. But, my lovelies, IT’S TRUE! This face is God’s gift to me, to you! He made me in HIS image, which means MY FACE is HIS FACE. All of it is a gift!
I somehow ended up on an Oil of Olay ad and subsequent thread, where all these women were attributing their beauty (and youthfulness seemed to equal beauty in their estimation) to a company. But NO! Your beauty—and YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL—is because you’re God’s gift.
I love my face and I love your face. God loves your face. LOVE YOUR face.
