👉 When you're in the gym, be in the gym... Focus! Leave everything that's on your mind at the door. Have an unparalleled focus on the task at hand. If you need to throw on some oversized, overly clichè bests 🎧 then so be it. If you're going to be at the gym, you might as well make the most of it. It's all well to have a laugh, or play around in between sets, but whilst you're in the set... Focus! Consider whether or not you're working the intended muscle, is your form where it needs to be? Can you feel your muscle contracting?
If you can't contract the muscle you intend to grow, it simply won't grow. Use it or lose it if you will. A lot of that comes down to forming a mind muscle connection. This mind muscle connection is very responsible for building aesthetics. Aesthetics is all about building up individual muscles to create a more balanced and proportionate physique. If you can't mentally engage certain muscles, then you will always have weak points.
Now, granted this lack of mind muscle connection could come down to postural or mobility issues, but if that's the case then you're in luck! You have identified the problem, and now you can go about applying the solution.
Nonetheless, when you're in a set your aim should be to feel through the muscle, and make each and every rep as good as it possible could be. Quality Reps, Quality Sets 💪
