Perfect piece of 🥑 toast right here: cracked wheat sourdough, half an avo, couple slices of turkey bacon, and a perfectly fried egg on top. Doesn't get much better than that 😍
Things I've learned about myself in the last decade of experimenting with what way of eating works best for my body: 1) I have a fast metabolism and can put away a lot of food (but can gain weight easily if I get too cocky with that knowledge) and 2) I want the most food right in the middle of the day. I'm not satisfied unless I have a large-ish well rounded meal with all the nutrients at lunch time. In fact, many Eastern medicine theories claim that you have the most digestive "fire" in the middle of the day, which happens to coincide with the highest point of the noon sun. Cool, huh? It is also a peak time of day for stomach acid production. We really are one with nature.
So lunch is typically my largest meal. I had a plate of mixed salad greens, chicken, chick peas, blueberries and dressing, but was still hungry after. I wanted something sweet (which is what always happens to me unless my lunch involves some amount of grains or high fiber toast). I *almost* caved and stuck a spoon into the pint of dairy-free Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey. (Yes they make that!) But I knew it was a bit more nutrition my body needed, not a spoonful of indulgent sugar. So I blended a frozen banana with a spoonful of salted almond butter a splash of cashew milk, and a half teaspoon of spirulina (a superfood with tons of nutrition AND is a complete protein for you vegetarians!). I topped it with some crunchy antioxidant rich cacao nibs, and you know what? This tastes so much better to me than the ice cream! My body is truly satisfied now with vitamins and minerals, and my sweet tooth is no longer yelling at me. I encourage all of you to take the time to listen to your bodies, too!!
There is always a reason to smile you just need to find one 💕 I've Had such a lovely day, I've been working , gone for a run, out for coffee and now finishing off with a picnic for dinner with my little family 🌞 The term "live your life to the fullest" doesn't just mean things like traveling and climbing mountains it means indulging in happiness in this very moment whatever that may be to you.
