Understand. The most labor-intensive work I've completed. I was preoccupied with this for almost a month.
The landscape was drawn by hand, and then converted by hand into polygons for light and dark shapes using a custom interface. Another program intersected the computer-generated, long sweeping lines with those polygons to create individual line segments. Using a pen plotter with variable pen sizes and ink levels, each paper tile was drawn separately. Up to six rounds of plotting were required for each. I cut the paper tiles by hand before assembling them into the full size work.
